Emblem Characteristics

3D Embroidered Emblems create a 3D effect using EVA foam inside the emblem. Variable in size and shape, these emblems are manufactured with 100% polyester fabrics and threads, finished with an embroidered border and adhesive in the back.

Emblem Size Limits

Minimum - 1.5" x 1.5"
Maximum - 16" x 14"

Color

Design cannot have more than 15 different colors of embroidery thread.

Backing

• Low melt heat seal
• Pressure-sensitive

Limitations

Low melt - Recommended application for thicker materials, such as jackets, and hats that can withstand a heat press and 320°F. Not recommended for use on materials that may be heat sensitive (ex: some nylons, silk, some plastics, leather, wool, fleece, etc.) or for weather-treated materials, due to chemicals used that do not allow the emblems to adhere properly.
Pressure-sensitive - Recommended application is on flat, non-textured surfaces, including glass, plastic, wood, and metal. Not recommended for application on surfaces that may contain an oil finish, such as silicon, Teflon™, rough fabrics, or outdoor goods.

Minimum Text Sizes

Flat embroidered text cannot have a height smaller than 4mm and column width of 1mm.

The 3D raised part of the emblem cannot be wider than 9mm or thinner than 3mm.

Washing Information

Machine wash inside-out using mild detergent. Patches with industrial heat seal backing will withstand 52 industrial wash cycles.

Shelf Life

One year shelf life before applying (room temperature-controlled environment).

Pressure-sensitive

1. Use rubbing alcohol to thoroughly clean the application area
2. Remove paper backing and press emblem firmly on desired location

Low Melt Backing with a Top Heat Press - Garments

1. Set the press at 315-325°F with 70-80 psi of pressure.
2. Ensure garment is wrinkle-free and place onto heat press.
3. Place the patch onto the desired location on the garment. Put the 3D Patch Rubber Pad over the emblem. Thermal Tape is optional.
4. Press for 14-18 seconds.
5. Remove garment from press and allow to cool.

Low Melt Heat Seal on Hats - Using the 360 IQ™ Hat Heat Press

1. Set the press at 290°- 300°F for top heat and 315°- 320°F for bottom heat with 60-80 psi of pressure.
2. Place the hat on the heat press, leaving out the inner layer of the cap. Use the adjustment lever for a better grip.
3. Place emblem on desired location. To secure emblem and prevent it from moving, use Thermal Tape.
4. Place a FlexStyle® Silicone Pad over the design.
5. Press for 25-30 seconds.
6. Deactivate the adjustment lever and remove the hat from the heat press.
7. Remove the Thermal Tape once the patch has cooled.
